Shamrocks Suffocate Burrards

Maple Ridge, BC ~ The Victoria Shamrocks shut down the Maple Ridge Burrards 5-3 on Tuesday evening at the Cam Neely Arena to improve to 12-2-1 on the season.


The Shamrocks founded themselves knotted at one after twenty minutes with their only offense provided by Kyle Pepper.


They ended the second period in much of the same fashion with the game at a quiet 3-3 score line. The goals in the second came by way of Zach Manns and Andrew Kew.


The 'Rocks got the only two goals of the third period thanks to Jesse King and once again Andrew Kew while Chris Origlieri stopped all 17 shots he saw in the final frame to close things out.


Origlieri was named first star of the game with 43 saves while his counter part Brandon Humphrey picked up second star with 45 stops of his own. Andrew Kew's two goal game saw him snag third star.


With a win tonight the Shamrocks retain first spot in the WLA with their 12-2-1 record. Coquitlam sports the same record however the Shamrocks have the upper hand with a 2-0 season series against the Adanacs.


Victoria is back in action on Friday night at the Q Centre for a massive playoff implication filled meeting with the New Westminster Salmonbellies. The game is not only Victoria's last home game of the year but also their fan appreciation night. Tickets are available by clicking here.
