Shamrocks Trade for Goalie Adam Bland

The Shamrocks are pleased to announce to acquisition of goaltender Adam Bland in a trade with the Maple Ridge Burrards, in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick in the upcoming WLA Draft on January 29th.

Bland, 23, was drafted by Burrards in the 2nd round of the 2024 draft after a standout junior career with the Vicotira Junior A Shamrocks. In 2025, he played for the Senior B Shamrocks in the West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association where he recorded a 0.855 save percentage in 17 games with the club. Prior to that he spent time on the active roster and practice roster with the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League after they drafted him in 2021.

"We're really pleased because this deal makes a lot of sense for us," said Shamrocks general manager Chris Welch. "Adam is a good, young goaltender who adds to our depth in a key position and the icing on the cake is that he's a local guy. It feels like he's been on our radar for so long, it's hard to imagine he's only 23 years old. His best years are still ahead of him."

The Western Lacrosse Association will be announcing the 2026 schedule in early February following this year's draft. You will be able to watch the draft live at WLALacrosse.com and keep an eye on our website and social media for the full 2026 schedule once it is released.
