Shamrocks DiCicco, Macdonald, Miller & McCulley taken in NLL Draft

(VIDEO: DiCicco gets selected 9th overall to San Diego)

The 2024 National Lacrosse League Draft took place Sunday evening, with only the first round being streamed live. Four Victoria Shamrocks were selected in the draft.

Trent DiCicco was selected ninth overall by the San Diego Seals. Originally projected to be picked between fourth and seventh picks, DiCicco was surprisingly still available at number nine. The Seals traded up, acquiring the 9th overall selection from the Georgia Swarm to select him. DiCicco will now join Shamrocks teammates Cole Pickup and Chris Origlieri in San Diego.

Denton Macdonald was taken in the second round, 20th overall, by the Saskatchewan Rush. Many experts expected Macdonald to be selected in the late first round, so his selection at 20th was considered a potential steal of the draft. Macdonald will be joining Shamrocks teammates Patrick Dodds and Adam Jay in Saskatoon.

Next up, was Arthur Miller, who was selected in the 3rd round, 43rd overall to the San Diego Seals. Miller will join DiCicco, Pickup and Origlieri in San Diego.ย

Lastly, Davis McCulley, the younger brother of Brad McCulley, was selected in the sixth round, 74th overall to the Las Vegas Desert Dogs. He will be joining Shamrocks Marshal King, Nick Preston in Vegas.ย

Next up on the NLL calendar is the release of the 24-25 schedule. It is set to be announced on September 17th.
