Jesse King Signs with Shamrocks for 2024

The Victoria Shamrocks are pleased to announce the return of Jesse King to the team for the upcoming 2024 Western Lacrosse Association season after a one-year absence in which he played professional field lacrosse.

“I’m really excited to have Jesse King back with our group,” said Shamrocks head coach Mike Simpson. “He is a leader on and off the floor who makes everyone around him better. I believe he is the most complete box lacrosse player in the world and will set a high standard for our young guys to follow.”

In 2022 King went wire to wire in the regular season as the leading scorer in the WLA, averaging more that 6 points per game and finishing with 99 points on the season. He was named first star in six games and third star once to earn the 2022 Three Star Award and was voted to the WLA’s First All-Star Team.

Originally drafted by the Shamrocks in 2014, King has appeared in a total of 127 games, scored 222 goals and added 345 assists for 567 career points as a Shamrock. He played a key role on the Shamrocks 2015 Mann Cup championship team and he is a two-time recipient of the George Blackstock Memorial Trophy as the Shamrocks Most Valuable Player in 2015 and 2022.

He is currently the captain and leading scorer with the Calgary Roughnecks in the National Lacrosse League and is in the top 10 of league scoring.
