Shamrock Sign Zach Manns in Nanaimo Trade
The Victoria Shamrocks are excited to announce the acquisition of Zach Manns for the 2025 playing year in a trade with the Nanaimo Timbermen. Going the other way is Thomas Vaesen, the playing rights of Noah Manning for the 2025 playing year.
Manns, a 26 year-old native of Victoria, was the co-MVP in the WLA in 2023 (with Haiden Dickson of the New Westminster Salmonbellies), a year in which he also won the league scoring title and was a First Team All-Star. He finished 2nd in league scoring last season, earning him a berth on the WLA 2nd All-Star Team. The 6’2”, 200 pound left-handed forward has scored 109 goals and added 137 assists for 246 points in 61 WLA regular season and playoff games.
“Zach has been known as the best local player not playing for the Shamrocks, but we’ve finally fixed that, at least for now,” said Shamrocks general manager Chris Welch. “It’s a massive deal for us to add another elite offensive talent to our group. We thank Tommy Vaesen for everything he’s done for us and we know that Noah has a very bright future in our league. We wish them both all the best.”
The Shamrocks begin their 75th anniversary season at home on Friday, May 23rd against the Maple Ridge Burrards, face off at 6:45pm at The Q Centre. Season tickets are still available.
