Shamrocks Acquire Goaltender Cam MacLeod

The Victoria Shamrocks are pleased to announce the acquisition of goaltender Cam MacLeod from the Edmonton Miners of Alberta Series Lacrosse Senior B where he won the league's goaltender of the year award in 2022. MacLeod, a 23 year-old native of Georgetown, Ontario is currently the backup goaltender for the Panther City Lacrosse Club in the National Lacrosse League.

In 2022 he backstopped Team England to their first-ever major tournament title as they defeated their rivals Team Germany in the 2022 European Box Lacrosse Championship final in Hannover, Germany. He played Junior A for both the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs and the St. Catharines Athletics. With Coquitlam, he participated in the 2019 Minto Cup and with St. Catharines, he backstopped the Athletics to the Iroquois Trophy as the Ontario Champions in 2021.

"We're excited to be able to give Cam this opportunity," said Shamrocks general manager Chris Welch. "In talking with his current and former coaches and managers, every one of them has had nothing but good things to say about him on and off the floor, so we're looking forward to bringing him in to see what he can do."

The Shamrocks' 2023 season starts on Friday, May 26th at 6:45pm against the Langley Thunder. The full schedule and 2023 season tickets are available at VictoriaShamrocks.com.
