Shamrocks Quest for a 10th Mann Cup Falls Short as Lakers 3-peat

Battered, bruised, and injury-depleted the Victoria Shamrocks battled to the very end before finally succumbing to the Lakers by a score of 7-5 in the 5th and final game of the Mann Cup Finals presented by Island Savings.  With the victory, the Peterborough Lakers claimed their 3rd consecutive Mann Cup.

Missing the likes of Jesse King, Rhys Duch, Casey Jackson, and Tyler Pace the Shamrocks certainly entered game 5 behind the eight ball.  Despite all of that, the club battled with an intestinal fortitude that many would have forgiven them if they didn't display it. The Shamrocks turned game 5 into a defensive war and it nearly worked in their effort to extend the series to the weekend.

Chris Wardle, Larson Sundown, Tyson Gibson, Graeme Hossack, and Chris Boushy all scored in game 5 for the Shamrocks, while Peter Dubenski was once again stellar in goal for the Shamrocks as he turned away 47 of the 54 Lakers attempts.

On behalf of the players, coaches, management, and staff, the club would like to thank all of the sponsors, volunteers, and fans for a tremendous season of Shamrocks lacrosse.  This season was meant to be a celebration of the long history of the Shamrocks as we celebrated the club's 70th anniversary.  The Shamrocks wouldn't be where they are without the support they receive from the community.

Thank you Shamrocks Nation, and we'll see you back at the Q Centre in May 2020.
