Shamrocks to Host Unbeaten Burrards in Q Centre Showdown

The Victoria Shamrocks (4-1-0) host the Maple Ridge Burrards (5-0-0) tonight at the Q Centre, 6:30 p.m., in the club’s first real marquee Western Lacrosse Association matchup of the season.

Victoria comes in riding a two-game winning streak after victories over the Burnaby Lakers and Nanaimo Timbermen, and the Shamrocks' attack has been a multi-pronged threat through the season's first five games. Zach Manns leads the way with 25 points, including a league second-best 17 assists. Captain Marshal King has been just as productive, putting up 19 points in four games played. Patrick Dodds adds 16 points, while Koen Block and Cole Pickup have each chipped in nine.

Maple Ridge arrives unbeaten and rolling, outscoring opponents by a league-best plus-24 goal differential while averaging 12 goals per game. The Burrards' offence runs through 2025 WLA MVP Marcus Klarich, who leads the league outright in goals (14), assists (18), and points (32) through five games. Tyler Pace sits tied for third in the league in points with 25 with teammate Payton Cormier, giving Maple Ridge a formidable top end to its lineup.

Tonight's game pits Victoria's depth against Maple Ridge's explosive top-line production, with both teams looking to stake a claim to the top of the standings going into the weekend.

The Shamrocks hit the road this weekend, travelling to Coquitlam on Saturday to face the defending WLA regular-season champion Adanacs. Fans can catch the webcast of both games at WLALacrosse.com. Tickets for tonight’s game at The Q Centre starting at 6:30pm are still available from VictoriaShamrocks.com.
