Shamrocks Welcome Bruce Alexander to Coaching Staff

The Victoria Shamrocks are excited to announce the addition of Bruce Alexander as the team's video coach for the upcoming 2023 season. Alexander is taking over the role from John Hamilton who has requested a leave from the club for personal reasons.

Alexander played for the Shamrocks from 1994 through 2003, winning three Mann Cups with the club in 1997, 1999, and 2003, and accumulating 387 points in 255 games played during his WLA career. He also played in the National Lacrosse League between 1999 and 2010.

"We are thrilled to welcome Bruce to our coaching staff," said Shamrocks General Manager Chris Welch. “We think he’ll be a great fit with our organization and will complement Mike Simpson and Art Webster nicely as another life-long Shamrock. He adds credibility and a wealth of experience in the game that will be an asset to our group, especially our young players.”

As video coach, Alexander will be responsible for analyzing game footage and providing the coaching staff and players with detailed feedback and insights.

"My dad started taking me to Shamrocks games when I was 5 years old. It was a dream to play for the team for 10 seasons and win 3 Mann Cups," said Alexander. "Now I'm excited to bring some of my playing and coaching experience back to the club to help this younger team compete at the highest level. This is an exciting opportunity."
