Trade Alert: 'Rocks Deal Resetarits to Thunder for Vaesen

The Victoria Shamrocks are excited to announce they have acquired Thomas Vaesen from the Langley Thunder in exchange for the WLA playing rights of Joe Resetarits. Vaesen, 23, of Shawnigan Lake was the 4th player taken in the 2021 WLA Draft after a standout junior career with the Nanaimo Junior Timbermen. He was their leading scorer in both of his final two years of junior scoring a combined 166 points (90 goals and 76 assists) in 41 games.

Vaesen was a first round selection of the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League in the 2021 NLL Draft and is currently on their practice roster. He appeared in 12 games with the Langley Thunder in his rookie WLA season earlier this year, scoring 27 points (10 goals and 17 assists) in 12 games while battling through a couple of injuries.

"When we had the opportunity to add another local product who has the potential to be an elite player in our league, we jumped at it," said Shamrocks general manager Chris Welch. "We look forward to having in our lineup next summer and for many more summers to come."
