Victoria Shamrocks, Keycorp Sports and Entertainment Welcomes David Michaud

Keycorp Sports and Entertainment Ltd. is thrilled to welcome David Michaud to its operation. Mr. Michaud will be President of the new company, responsible for growing the division of the Keycorp group of companies by working with new and existing sports teams, entertainment venues, concert promoters, and more to bring professional-level promotion, ticketing, and event day production to Victoria, and across British Columbia.

He will also be working with the Victoria Shamrocks to continue the excellence in promotion and entertainment that the club has provided in the Greater Victoria area for the last seventy years.

Mr. Michaud joins the Shamrocks after three years with the Penticton Vees Junior A hockey club in a similar role and brings a depth of sports and entertainment experience with past roles with the Creative Artists Agency, and the Okanagan Rockets Major Midget hockey club.

“The sports and entertainment landscape have changed significantly over the years,” said Mr. Michaud. “We will continue the family-focused fun that the Shamrocks have provided for the last seventy years, and we will develop new opportunities for great nights out and engaging sponsorship opportunities to connect the region’s top businesses with our amazing local fan base.”

“I’m very excited to have David joining us,” said Jim Hartshorne, President of the Keycorp Group of Companies and Governor of the Victoria Shamrocks. “He has a fantastic track record of success with bringing together the worlds of business and sports. The Shamrocks and the West Shore community, in general, are going to greatly benefit from his experience and hard work.”

Mr. Michaud joins the Victoria Shamrocks in advance of the club celebrating its 70th consecutive season playing Senior A box lacrosse in Victoria. First organized in 1950 as part of the Inter-City Lacrosse League, the team is one of Victoria’s enduring sports legacies, with a remarkable record of twenty provincial championships, nineteen league championships, nine national championships, and thirty-two former players, coaches, and trainers honoured in the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

The Victoria Shamrocks will begin their 70th season in May 2019. Season tickets will be available in the coming weeks at VictoriaShamrocks.com or by visiting the Shamrocks Team Store at #120 – 967 Langford Parkway. Check the website or call 250-478-ROCK (7625) for team store hours and directions.
